Unicorn in Flight

Alright, so, when I asked Alex out on a date, her response included this line, which made my heart soar.

I wanted to draw just my OC flying around happily, but then I started thinking of all the cool homages I could make with the two together.

This drawing is a mix of (in addition to My Little Pony) Aladdin and Superman. Aladdin because of the color scheme, and I listened to "A Whole New World" like 40 times while drawing this. Superman because of that one scene where Superman is flying holding Lois Lane by her hand, and she's looking down amazed at the world, and he's just looking at her.

On top of that, I couldn't decide on a title because "Come Fly With Me" and "Fly Me to the Moon" and "A Whole New World" and other such flight-related songs keep in my head. So you get the drab boring one right there!

The only comment on the artwork itself I have is, I had to pose the arms but the general shape is based off of Rainbow Dash. However, as it turns out Friendship is Magic doesn't differentiate male and female ponies when doing this perspective (from below, facing the camera) in terms of head shape. That seemed silly, considering their heads are differently shaped at all other angles, so I had to come up with a way to make my pony more masculine.

Oh, and I guess this scene would take place before Nightmare Moon was released in Episode 1? I guess? I don't know, I'm curious whether this is set like, weeks before, or years, or centuries, or when. Even I don't know.
